    HARLAN -- Richard M. Mikels, 90, Harlan, died November 16 at Elm Crest Retirement Community.    A private family Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Our Lady of Fatima Church with burial in St.

    SHELBY -- Mildred Louise Lesch, 90, Shelby, died Tuesday, Nov. 10 in Harlan.    A celebration of life services will be held at a later date.    Lesch is survived by sons Frank (Pamela) Lesch of Shelby and Mitchell Lesch of Shelby; sister Alice Maaske of Cozad, NE; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.    Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    DUNLAP -- Lyro A.     SANTA FE, NM -- Word has been received of the death of Colleen LaPorte, 92, on November 9.    LaPorte is a former teacher and principal at St. Michael’s Catholic School in Harlan.  She is survived by nieces, nephews, friends and piano students.    Services are pending at Pojoaque Catholic Church in New Mexico.
 

    DUNLAP -- Ruth Rose Koch, 90, Dunlap, formerly of Earling, died November 8 at Dunlap Specialty Care.    A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Nov. 13 with burial in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Earling.  Visitation was held Thursday, Nov. 13 from 3-7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling.  A Catholic Daughters Rosary was held at 5 p.m.

    MISSOURI VALLEY -- Rosalie Williams, 91, Missouri Valley, died Tuesday, Nov. 3 at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley.    Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Missouri Valley.  Visitation is Saturday from 10-11 a.m.

    PERSIA -- Victor Thorton Bird, 75, Persia, died November 6 at his home.    Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca with burial in the Shelby Cemetery at Shelby.  Visitation is Wednesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

    MANNING -- Margaret “Marge” Croghan, 91, Manning, died Sunday, Nov. 1 at Regency Park in Carroll.    Private family Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Nov. 5 at Sacred Heart Church in Manning with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Manning.    While in-person attendance is reserved for family, the Mass was live-streamed on the Ohde Funeral Home Facebook® page.
 

    OAKLAND -- Lynn Harold Jacobsen, 72, Oakland, died October 29 at home.    Graveside services were held Saturday, Oct. 31 at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Hancock.    Jacobsen is survived by brothers Larry Jacobsen of Hancock and Lon (Diane) Jacobsen of Avoca; and sisters Kay Prine of Council Bluffs and Cheroylene (Jay) Holder of Spring Valley, CA.    Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca was in charge of arrangements.
