Senior Spartan Cash Emgarten’s breakaway slam dunk set the tone early in the first quarter as the Exira-EHK Spartans had a dominant 72-44 victory.
"Getting this win tonight was big, because we lost Tuesday," Emgarten said. "Then we came back and got a win yesterday which was huge, and then we got another tonight which helps us get momentum towards Monday."

HCHS Boys Wrestling Has Off Night During Dual

The HCHS boys wrestling team got back action Tuesday night at Lewis Central High School with a dual against three other schools including Carroll, Creston, and Lewis Central. It was their first meet since Saturday during the Heelan Invite where they were one of 13 schools to compete.

Cyclone Senior Erica Rust led the way in scoring with 18 points Tuesday night on the road against the Denison Monarchs, helping lead the Cyclones to their 3rd consecutive victory and 11th of the season.
“Having this 3-game win streak is good,” Rust said. “It just gives us more confidence to keeping rolling into the playoffs.”

Sternberg ties 3-point school record

During a double overtime loss Jan. 5, Vikings Junior Luke Sternberg tied a school record for nine 3-point shots during a game, matching himself with 2022 graduate Raydden Grobe.
"I didn't know until someone told me after the game," Sternberg said. "I originally thought it was 11, but I was told I tied it. But very grateful that I could have the green light to shoot that many."
