After two tough losses, the Exira-EHK Spartans got back in the win column with a dominant 71-30 win over the West Harrison Hawkeyes Friday night at home.

Junior Cyclone Aubrey Schwieso erupted for 32 points during Thursday’s road win against the Atlantic Trojans to lead the Cyclones to their 12th victory of the season.

Towards the end of the third quarter in Thursday’s home game, Senior Cyclone Franz Reisz put his team up 11 points with a jump shot forcing a timeout from Glenwood Rams head coach Curt Schulte en route to an eventual 57-43 victory.
“It feels good especially since we lost last time,” Reisz said. “Our team has been gelling together really well, and playing really good defensive ball.”

The HCHS boys wrestling team got back action Tuesday night at Lewis Central High School with a dual against three other schools including Carroll, Creston, and Lewis Central. It was their first meet since Saturday during the Heelan Invite where they were one of 13 schools to compete.

In the fourth quarter with just over a minute remaining and the Cyclones holding onto a 1-point lead, Senior Will Arkfeld got possession of the ball with a pass from Jozef Reisz and made a 3-point shot, putting the Cyclones up by four, en route to a 48-37 victory.

Cyclone Senior Erica Rust led the way in scoring with 18 points Tuesday night on the road against the Denison Monarchs, helping lead the Cyclones to their 3rd consecutive victory and 11th of the season.
“Having this 3-game win streak is good,” Rust said. “It just gives us more confidence to keeping rolling into the playoffs.”

During a double overtime loss Jan. 5, Vikings Junior Luke Sternberg tied a school record for nine 3-point shots during a game, matching himself with 2022 graduate Raydden Grobe.
"I didn't know until someone told me after the game," Sternberg said. "I originally thought it was 11, but I was told I tied it. But very grateful that I could have the green light to shoot that many."

In the second quarter of Saturday's home game, the Underwood Eagles outscored the Cyclones 19-4, which ended up being the difference in their 57-49 victory, earning their 13th win and handing the Cyclones their 3rd loss of the season.

In the first quarter of Saturday's home game, the Cyclones jumped out to a 10-0 run against the Underwood Eagles, en route to a dominant 52-33 victory, earning their 10th victory.
"We knew they were solid down low," said Cyclone Junior Aubrey Schwieso. "We haven't played many games, but we came out really strong against Blair, so we gained some confidence there."

Tuesday night, the HCHS Cyclones got back in the win column with a dominant 57-33 victory over the Blair Bears to earn their 9th win of the season.

After a tough 49-48 loss Dec. 5 at home against AHSTW in which Vikings Junior Luke Sternberg made a last second bucket, the IKM-Manning Wolves bounced back to a dominant 63-51 victory over the Vikings in their house earning their third win in a row and fourth win in their previous five.

In the third quarter of Tuesday’s home game, Vikings Senior Delaney Goshorn caught fire making three consecutive 3-pointers leading her team to a dominant 64-45 victory over the IKM-Manning Wolves for their 6th win of the season and first win since Dec. 15.

In the fourth quarter with the Chargers leading 63-62 over the Exira-EHK Spartans, Senior Charger Anthony Solorzano was fouled, making two free throws, securing a close 65-62 victory.

In the third quarter of Saturday's home match, the ACGC Chargers went on a 9-0 run that was key to a 53-40 victory over the Exira-EHK Spartans handing them their second consecutive loss and third of the season.

In a second overtime period in Friday's game, the Tri-Center Trojans offense went on a 6-0 run to close out the game handing the Vikings their 7th loss of the season and 4th consecutive.
