COUNCIL BLUFFS -- Lois Bernice Kahler, 103, Council Bluffs, died October 18 at Midlands Living Center.    Services were held Thursday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m.

    HARLAN -- Stephen Craig Knight, 68, Harlan, died October 15 at Bergan Mercy Medical Center.    No services are planned.    Knight is survived by sisters Kathleen (Clen) Lincoln of Fort Dodge and Nancy (David) Jacobs of Harlan.    Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan is in charge of arrangements.

    MANILLA -- Loren Edward Ferry, 85, Manilla, died Wednesday, Oct. 13 at Manning Regional Healthcare Center in Manning.    Services were held Friday, Oct. 15 at 11 a.m.

    MINDEN -- Connie Lee Lehan, 74, Minden, died October 19 at her home.    A rosary will be held Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca.  Family will greet friends Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the STs.

    PANAMA -- Rita Reisz, 99, Panama, died Wednesday, Oct. 20.    She is survived by her children Mary (Bob) Weis, Barb King, Phyllis (Mark) Bishoff, and Fran (Ken) Slaven; 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; siblings Urb (Joan) Schneider, Don Schneider and Arlene (Merlin) Carter.    Services are pending at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.

    HARLAN -- Sandra Lou Carlson, 69, Harlan, died October 15 at her home.    Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  Visitation is Saturday from 9-11 a.m.

    ELK HORN -- Alyce Marie Myrtue, 96, Elk Horn, formerly of Harlan, died October 14 in Elk Horn.    Services are pending at Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home.

    STEWARTSVILLE, MO -- Larry Eugene Gundy, 81, Stewartsville, Mo., died Saturday, Oct. 9.    He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; children, David “Butch” Anderson, Lori Gandara, Patti Zimmerman, and Wanda Cashatt; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.    Services will be held at a later date.    Turner Family Funeral is in charge of arrangements.

    CARROLL -- Annette Oswald, 91, Carroll, formerly of Harlan, died October 7 at St. Anthony’s Regional Hospital in Carroll.    Services were held Monday, Oct. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll with burial at 2:30 p.m.

    IRWIN -- Gene C. Borkowski, 90, Irwin, died Wednesday, Oct. 6 at his home.    Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 2:30 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Kristine Schmitz, 54, Harlan, died Monday, Oct. 4.    Services were held Saturday, Oct. 9 at 4 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Gary Sanders, 81, Harlan, formerly of Spencer, NE, died October 6.    Services were held Monday, Oct. 11.    Sanders is survived by daughter Tina (Bruce) Christensen of Harlan; granddaughters and families Tabitha (Jason) Ludwig of Auburn, Tammi (Matt) Thompson of Nebraska City, NE, Ashley (Paul) Bruck of Harlan, and Alison (Shane) King of Breda; and 12 great-grandchildren.

    MASON CITY -- Lana Jean Eagen, 79, Mason City, formerly of Harlan, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, at the Good Shepherd Health Center.    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oc. 13 at the First United Methodist Church with interment in the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield.

    LOGAN -- Caroline Esser 97, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021 in Logan.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Logan.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9 at the church.Arrangements made by Logan Memorial Chapel.

    PANAMA -- Funeral services for Alfred J. Wingert, 80, of Panama will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Panama. Mass of  Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. followed with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Wake service will be on Tuesday, Oct. 5, from 4 - 8 p.m. at St. Mary’s Hall.
