After the Atlantic Trojans offense scored four runs in the bottom of the 7th to tie the ballgame, the Cyclones came right back and scored three runs in the top of the 8th, en route to a 15-12 victory and their seventh consecutive victory.

Eighth grader Riley Miller pitched three innings, striking out five batters in Wednesday’s victory over the Glidden-Ralston Wildcats helping lead the Spartans to a 13-1 mercy rule victory.
“She did good,” said Spartans Head Coach Andrea Schwery. “We wanted to challenge their hitters tonight. We saw they had pretty good averages, but she did a good job keeping them off the basepaths.”

In the top of the 7th inning in a scoreless ballgame, Council Bluffs eighth grader Hanna Ferguson connected for an RBI double off of Cyclone Senior Jenna Gessert, putting her team up 1-0 en route to a 2-0 victory.
“She [Gessert] really hit her spots hard,” said Cyclones Head Coach Brandi Eckles. “She was doing a fantastic job and they just ended up getting some hits in the gaps that we didn’t get.”

The Lewis Central Titans came to town and shutdown the Cyclones in five innings, winning via mercy rule 11-1 in five innings at H. Jack Field.

In the bottom of the 6th inning with two outs and a runner on second base, Cyclone Sophomore Jozef Reisz stepped to the plate and connected for a base hit scoring Braydon Ernst, winning the game 16-6 in six innings via the mercy rule.

In game one, Senior Cael Goshorn pitched four innings, struck out three batters and walked two. He only threw 78 pitches on the day due to an offensive outburst by the Cyclones in the bottom of the 1st inning, scoring 14 runs, forcing the Tigers to use three different pitchers in one inning.

After dropping their previous 11 games, the Cyclones got themselves back in the win column in game two of their Monday night home doubleheader with a 12-11 victory over the Red Oak Tigers.
“It feels amazing honestly,” said Junior Brianna Muenchrath. “It’s an incredible feeling.”

In the bottom of the 6th inning with a runner on base, Cyclone Junior Cade Sears launched a home run over the right field fence putting his team up 7-0, which at the time seemed like icing on the cake of an easy victory, but after a furious rally by the Kuemper Catholic Knights in the top of the 7th, the Cyclones hung on for a 7-6 win.
For the Cyclones, this was their second win in a row and third in their previous four games.

Senior Cyclone Ellie Ineson had two base hits and drove in two runs Thursday night at home against Kuemper Catholic, but it wasn’t enough as the Knights won 8-4 and handed the Cyclones their 10th loss in a row and 18th on the season.
Jenna Gessert started the night in the circle for the Cyclones against Ally Sommerfield. Both girls pitched seven innings.

The Exira-EHK Spartans continue to cruise past their opponents winning yet another game in grand fashion 14-2 over the Ar-We-Va Rockets Wednesday night at home.
For the Spartans, this was their fourth consecutive win and 12th this season as they sit atop the Rolling Valley Softball Standings.

Cyclone Junior Cade Sears will be continuing his football career at South Dakota State following graduation in spring 2024.
“I’m really excited that I am able to play football at the next level,” Sears said.
Sears talked about what made him choose South Dakota State and what he loves about their program.

The Harlan Trap Shooting team took home five trophies with several kids bringing home medals at the state meet in Cedar Falls.
“We are very proud of our whole team this year, almost everyone who went to state had at least one personal best for the year which is awesome to see,” said Cyclones Head Trap Shooting Coach Jason Paulsen.

Cyclone Sophomore Jozef Reisz threw 91 pitches in four innings, allowing just two runs on three hits while striking out six batters en route to a 17-2 mercy rule victory for the Cyclones Tuesday night at home over the Denison-Schleswig Monarchs.
For the Cyclones it was their second win in the last three games and puts them at 9-10 overall on the season.

Cyclone Junior Brock Lemrick came out of the bullpen in game one of a doubleheader on the road and pitched 5.2 innings striking out five batters and giving up just two hits after Franz Reisz had some early struggles lasting just 1.1 innings.

The AHSTW Vikings softball team scored 13 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning Monday night en route to a dominant 16-2 victory over the Tri-Center Trojans.
For the Vikings, it was their second consecutive win and third win in their previous four games.
