The HCHS boys varsity golf team finished 7th with 349 strokes just three strokes behind Lewis Central and Atlantic who tied for 5th.
For the Cyclones, they were led by Jace Gubbels who finished 13th overall with 82 strokes, including a birdie on hole two, a par 4 and hole eight, a par 4. The winner was Grant Jansen out of ADM, finishing his day with 73 strokes.

Cyclone Sophomore Aubrey Schwieso scored two goals against the Denison-Schleswig Monarchs en route to a 5-0 shutout victory for the Cyclones, winning their fourth consecutive game and 7th on the season.
“It was a good night for soccer,” said Cyclones Head Coach Jared Boysen. “We knew this was going to be a similar match up to our games last week and was a close matchup last year where we were able to win 3-2.”

With a limited roster at the Tiger Relays, Cyclones head coach Sam Brummer was pleased with the effort put forth by his team as they managed to tie for 3rd place with the Glenwood Rams with 63 points, just four behind Underwood who won the event.

With the Drake Relays right around the corner, the HCHS girls track and field team had another strong performance at the Council Bluffs Track Invite Thursday.
“This was a fun meet for us,” said Cyclones Head Coach Jenny Hamilton. “We switched some things up and asked girls to compete in events that may have been out of their comfort zone. We got in some needed speedwork and broke a few mental barriers along the way.”

12 minutes into Thursday’s soccer match, Cyclone Aubrey Schwieso crossed the ball to Kayla Anderson who assisted to Ivy Stevens for a goal, putting the Cyclones up 1-0, en route to a 4-0 shutout victory over the Missouri Valley Lady Reds. It was their third consecutive win and sixth of the season.

Thursday, the HCHS boys golf team competed in the Harlan Triangular against the Treynor Cardinals and Kuemper Catholic Knights at the Harlan Golf & Country Club in challenging weather.
“The conditions tonight were pretty tough with chilly temps and gusty 25 mph winds,” said Cyclones Head Coach Chad Swanson.

The HCHS girls track team was originally supposed to be in Lewis Central for a Co-Ed meet, but the event got moved to Glenwood, where the girls managed to take an 8th place finish with 45 points.
“This meet is always quite the show with a 14 team co-ed lineup,” said Cyclones Head Coach Jenny Hamilton. “It’s a tough place to score points, but we are always happy to welcome good competition.”

Monday afternoon at home, the girls varsity tennis team lost 9-0 to the Kuemper Catholic Knights despite some close battles.
“I thought our girls competed really well on Monday,” said Cyclones Head Coach Dillon Stane. “We had 4 matches go into "extra innings", and our 5th match was extremely close as well. They played a very solid team and were close to walking away with some high-quality victories.”

Monday afternoon at the Harlan Golf & Country Club, the girls varsity golf team earned its first victory of the season, beating the Kuemper Catholic Knights, 209-217.
“We’re steadily improving,” said Cyclones Head Coach Todd Bladt. “It’s hard to get everybody to have their best night on the same night, so if we can get everybody playing well and consistent, get down around the 190s, that’s kind of what we’re striving for.”

The IKM-Manning Wolves track and field team performed well at the Ace Nelson Relays at Denison-Schleswig Monday afternoon with a second place team finish, along with many students finishing high in multiple events.

Tuesday, the HCHS boys varsity golf team competed on the road against the Glenwood Rams, losing 159-164.
Despite dropping the match, the Bladt name ran strong, including Senior Drew Bladt, who had the best score among the Cyclones with 40 strokes, including being a medalist.

With a limited roster, the IKM-Manning Wolves girls track and field team took what athletes they had to the Ace Nelson Relays at Denison Schleswig High School Monday afternoon and showed well with a 6th place finish and 44.50 points.

Monday, the HCHS boys varsity golf team competed at the Spencer Invitational tying with the Emmetsburg E-Hawks with 339 strokes apiece, just 22 behind the winner, Western Christian.
Multiple Cyclones performed well, including Jonas Reynolds, Alex Bladt, Braydon Ernst, Jace Gubbels and Drew Bladt, who all scored under 90.

About ten minutes into Monday’s game, Cyclone Sophomore Kayla Anderson scored her first goal of the season on an assist from Sophomore Aubrey Schwieso, putting the Cyclones up 1-0, en route to a dominating 4-0 win.
The Cyclones secured their fifth win of the season starting their 3-game road trip off on the right foot.

With the game tied at one and less than 15 minutes to go, Sophomore Aubrey Schwieso drove to the net, found an opening past Trojans goalkeeper Preslie Arbaugh scoring her second goal of the night, putting the Cyclones ahead for good, sealing a 2-1 win over the Tri-Center Trojans.
