G-R outscores Spartans 57-34

 EXIRA (Sept. 11) -- In a high-scoring 8-Player, District 8 matchup of 0-2 teams, Glidden-Ralston topped Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton 57-34 here Friday night.
   Sophomore Trey Petersen had a good night throwing the football for the Spartans, completing 16-of-28 passes for 314 yards and three touchdowns. He added 62 rushing yards and one score.

Wolves fall short in three set battle with Lady Reds

 MANNING (Sept. 10) -- First-year IKM-Manning volleyball coach McKaylie Croghan will exercise patience this fall as she guides a young Wolves’ squad looking to gain both confidence and skill level. Croghan’s team was poised for victory in two out of three sets here Thursday night, but ended up losing to Missouri Valley 10-25, 23-25, 24-26 in its Western Iowa Conference opener.
