    HARLAN -- Terry and Shelly Saunders of Harlan will mark their 40th wedding anniversary on December 27. The couple celebrated by taking a trip to Hawaii in late February. Terry and Shelly returned home right as flights were being canceled due to the pandemic.    Their family includes Jessica and Russell McDaniel, Ralston, NE; Jeff and Jessica Saunders, Harlan; and three grandsons.

The 5 p.m. double ring ceremony was performed by Pastor Laurie Riley.    Parents of the couple are Larry and Beth Hagedorn, Irwin; and Evert and Janet Wiss, Fort Dodge.
 

    HARLAN -- Amy Petersen and Tyler Thomas, both of Harlan, were married on July 30, 2020 in Harlan. Magistrate Bill Early performed the 9:30 a.m. double ring ceremony.    Parents of the couple are Brunhilde Petersen, Harlan, and the late Brian Petersen; and Steven Thomas, Walnut; and Denise and Randy Sandbothe, Walnut.

    HARLAN -- Anna Nelson and Brogan Kienast, both of Harlan, plan to marry on December 12 at Fresh Encounter Church in Harlan.    Anna  is the daughter of Corey Nelson, Harlan; and Cara Cacy, Harlan. Brogan is the son of Mike and Connie Kienast, Harlan.    
 

    PORTSMOUTH -- Dave and Bev Ohlinger of Portsmouth will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on December 2. Their children include Al Ohlinger, Des Moines; and Marie Ohlinger, Iowa City.    Dave is employed as the maintenance and groundskeeper at St. Mary Our Lady of Fatima Church in Portsmouth. Bev is a retired special education teacher having taught at Tri-Center Community School and Exira-EHK Community School.
