ELK HORN (Dec. 8) -- Ar-We-Va’s Drew Schurke and Keegan Simmons combined to score 40 points Friday night as the Rocket boys outlasted Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton 63-60 in Rolling Valley Conference action.  HARLAN -- Harlan Community senior Abby Bruck signed a national letter of intent on November 29 to join the women’s swimming team at Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska. Bruck was a member of the Lewis Central swimming team for the past four years and competed at the state meet three times. This past season, Bruck qualified for the State Swimming & Diving Meet in Marshalltown as part of three LC relays.

 MANNING (Dec. 2) -- In a battle of Class 2A Top 10 teams, the Panorama girls outlasted IKM-Manning 50-45 in a competitive non-conference matchup here last Saturday. The Wolves’ highlight of the game was senior guard Kia Rasmussen surpassing 1,000 career points on a three-point basket with less than three minutes to go.

 MANNING (Dec. 2) -- The IKM-Manning boys basketball team survived Panorama’s 10 three-pointers and overcame an eight-point halftime deficit to win last Saturday’s non-conference game 54-51. The Wolves (2-1) entered the fourth quarter down 44-38 before outscoring the 1-2 Panthers 16-7 the rest of the way. Both teams rode the hot hand of two top scorers on the day.
