WINCHESTER, KY -- Marilyn Lou Maassen Petersen, 83, Winchester, KY, died Saturday, Dec. 9 at Richmond Place in Lexington, KY.    Services will be held Friday, Dec. 15 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Christian Church with burial in the Harlan Cemetery at a time to be determined.  Visitation is Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

    COUNCIL BLUFFS - Harold Gene McKeown, 90, a former Shelby County Engineer in the 1960s, died December 4 in Council Bluffs.    He was founder and retired president of HGM Associates Inc. (first known as H. Gene McKeown and Associates, Inc.) engineering, architecture and land surveying firm in Council Bluffs and Omaha.    Cutler-O’Neill Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. 

    PANAMA -- Nora Mardelle Schechinger, 27 days old, Panama, died December 9 at Children’s Hospital in Omaha.    Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Panama with burial in the St.

    SARASOTA, FL -- Joseph A. Thraen, 76, Sarasota, FL, formerly of Earling, died Sunday, Dec.

    HARLAN -- Jean L. Lansman, 90, Harlan, died Saturday, Dec. 9 in Harlan.    Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 10:30 a.m.

    ELDRIDGE -- Dorothea Catherine Paulsen, 98, Eldridge, died December 1.    Services will be held Friday, Dec. 8 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca with burial in the Graceland Cemetery at Avoca.  Family greeted friends Thursday, Dec. 7 from 5-7 p.m.

    HANCOCK -- Alden Krueger, 87, Hancock, died December 1.    Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m.

    AVOCA -- Patsy Ann Nuzum, 50, Avoca, died November 23 in Harlan.    Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m.

    DUNLAP -- Marilyn (Schomers) Grote, 62, Dunlap, died Sunday, Nov. 26 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs.    Services will be held Friday, Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dunlap.  Visitation with family was held Thursday, Nov. 30 from 4-8 p.m. at the St. Patrick’s Parish Center where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m.

    PARKER, TX -- Harold F. Smith, 86, Parker, TX, died November 17 in Texas.    Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 11 a.m.

    HARLAN -- Larry Edward Buttry, Sr., 81, Harlan, died November 22 at Elm Crest Assisted Living.    Services were held Monday, Nov. 27 at 11 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.    Buttry is survived by sons Larry (Denise) Buttry, Jr.

    HARLAN -- Marlene Christensen, 76, Harlan, died November 17 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services were held Monday, Nov. 20 at 10:30 a.m.

    AVOCA -- Ruth E. Francis, 95, Avoca, formerly of Harlan, died Sunday, Nov. 19 in Avoca.    Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  Friends may call Tuesday, Nov. 21 from 3-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-6 p.m.

    ELK HORN -- Bernice Wilhemine Mordhorst, 103, Elk Horn, died November 13 at the Salem Lutheran Home.    Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan with burial in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Portsmouth.  A wake service will be held Friday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.  Visitation is Friday from 5-8 p.m.

    GREENFIELD -- Gary Ross Brewer, 80, Greenfield, died November 1 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Port St. Lucie, FL.    Services will be held Friday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. at Shelby United Lutheran Church in Shelby with burial in the Shelby Cemetery.  Visitation is Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
