HARLAN -- Elaine Renee Barman, 37, Harlan, died September 9 at her home.    Services will be held Monday, Sept. 16 at 11 a.m. at Willard Christian Alliance Church in Willard, Ohio with burial in the Steuben Cemetery in Steuben, Ohio.  Family met friends Thursday, Sept. 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Harvest Alliance Church in Minden and again Sunday, Sept. 15 from 4-8 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Ruth E. McKinstrey, 85, Harlan, formerly of Sioux Falls, SD, died August 26 at Elm Crest Retirement Community.    Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.  Visitation is Saturday from 10-11 a.m.

    HARLAN -- Father Benedict Joseph Kenkel, 91, Harlan, died August 28 at Elm Crest Assisted Living.    Services were held Saturday, Aug. 31 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling with burial in the St.

    PANAMA -- Dean Leonard Klein, 56, Panama, died August 25 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Panama.  A rosary will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Parish Center in Panama.  Visitation is Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.

    AVOCA -- J. Colette Scobee, 93, Avoca, died August 23 at her home.  Services were held Monday, Aug. 26 at 3:30 p.m. at St.

    HARLAN -- Michael Eugene Poorker, Sr., 40, Harlan, died August 22 at his home.    Visitation is Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 6-8 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.  Lunch will be held Tuesday from 1-5 p.m. at 1402 800th St. in Harlan.    Poorker is survived by his mother, Kimberly Poorker, of Avoca; wife Stephenie Poorker of Harlan; daughters Isabella Poorker of Neola and Jamie Bergantzel of Harlan; sons Michael Poorker, Jr.

    MANILLA -- Larry Axland, 81, Manilla, died August 21 at Hansen House.    Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Irwin with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Irwin.  Visitation is Saturday from 9-11 a.m.

    SUN CITY WEST, AZ - Dorothy Joan Alff, 86, died on Saturday, August 10 in Sun City West, AZ.    Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca with burial in the Graceland Cemetery at Avoca.  Public visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca.    Survivors include her daughter Dr.
