    WOODBINE -- Roland John Wegner, 88, Woodbine, died March 14 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services will be held Tuesday, March 17 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  A wake service was held Monday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.  Visitation was Monday from 5-7 p.m.

    WALNUT -- Frances Hansen, 96, Walnut, died March 13 at Heritage House.    Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 21 at 11 a.m. at the Graceland Cemetery in Avoca.    Hansen is survived by sons Lynn (Jane) Hansen of Anita and Jay (Liz) Hansen of Grinnell; daughter Pamela (James) John of Lee’s Summit, MO; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.    Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca is in charge of arrangements.

    HARLAN -- Jim Jensen, 84, Harlan, died Tuesday, March 10 in Council Bluffs.    Services will be held Saturday, March 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Bowman’s Grove Cemetery in rural Shelby County.  Friends may call Friday, March 13 from 3-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m.

    ELK HORN -- Marion Cornilsen, 91, Elk Horn, died March 9 at the Salem Lutheran Home.    Services were held Thursday, March 12 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church Grand Mound with burial in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery in Clinton.  Visitation was Thursday from 9:30-11 a.m.

PERSIA -- Earl Edward Eckmann, 87, Persia, died March 6 at Elm Crest Retirement Community.    Services will be held Tuesday, March 10 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Persia with burial in the Minden Cemetery in Minden.  Visitation was Monday, March 9 from 3-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m.

    SUN CITY CENTER, FL - Funeral services are pending for former Harlan resident Darlene Erickson Philson, Sun City Center, FL.

    OMAHA, NE -- Dorothy Ann Eggerss, 90, Omaha, died February 26 at Parsons House.    Services will be held Tuesday, March 3 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca with burial in the Layton Township Cemetery in Walnut.  Family will greet friends Monday, March 2 from 4-8 p.m.

    AVOCA -- Max E. Bornholdt, 90, Avoca, died February 21 at his home.    Graveside services were held Monday, Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. at the Monroe Township Cemetery in Walnut.  Public visitation was Monday from 4-7 p.m.

    DUNLAP -- Mildred (Foecke) Cogdill, 92, Dunlap, died Tuesday, Feb. 19 at the Burgess Hospital in Onawa.    Services will be held Friday, Feb. 21 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dunlap.  Visitation was Thursday, Feb. 20 from 4-7 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Parish Center in Dunlap.  A rosary was held Thursday at 4 p.m. and and a scripture service at 7 p.m.

    ELK HORN -- Opal Darlene Marcussen, 94, Elk Horn, formerly of Harlan, died Tuesday, Feb. 18 in Harlan.    Services will be held Friday, Feb. 21 at 11 a.m. at Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan with burial of ashes in the Harlan Cemetery.  There is no visitation.    Marcussen is survived by children Ann (King) Cole of Savage, MN, Terry Marcussen of Adair and Karen Marcussen of Cleveland, TN; other relatives and friends.
