Neil Urban Huebert, the youngest son of Henry Jr. and Gertrude (Leinen) Huebert. He was born on December 13, 1944. He attended St. Mary’s Grade and High School, graduating with the class of 1963.Neil helped farm with his father and also helped his father and uncle on fencing jobs. In 1963, Neil joined his oldest brother Gerald in the roofing business, known as Huebert Brothers.

Marcia Burger, 92, passed away on May 10 in Cassville, Missouri.  She was born on August 23, 1930 in Harlan, Iowa to Reno and Rubie Stofferson.  She graduated from Harlan High School in 1949 and later married Dale Findlay. They had four sons, Bill, Mark, Cole and David.   In 1975, she married Darrell Burger.

Robert Gene Bradley (Bob or Bobby) age 67 of Persia, IA passed away in his home on April 28, 2023.Bob was born on May 8, 1955, in Council Bluffs, IA and graduated from Tri-Center in 1973. Bob lived in the Persia area his whole life.

Mildred “Mick” Theresa (Erlbacher) Graeve  was born on November 20, 1928, the oldest of six children to Valeria (Koesters) and Leonard Erlbacher in Earling, Iowa.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Catholic Church.Mick graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1946.

  Joseph “Joe” Leo Kohles was born to Delbert and Celestine “Sally” (Arkfeld) Kohles on January 14, 1952 in Harlan, Iowa. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Panama, Iowa until the age of 12 when he moved with his parents and four youngest siblings to San Bruno, CA.In California, he stayed busy with baseball and his paper route.

Eden Scot Shaeffer of Avoca, Iowa passed away March 30, 2023.  She was born January 17, 2003, in Amarillo, Texas to Aaron and Cynthia Shaeffer.Eden was simply an ethereal being. Her smile was 1000 watts, lighting up everyone who saw it. She loved to laugh, she laughed loud and made others laugh until they cried. She loved with her whole face. Eden was love.She brought the sunshine with her everywhere she went. She was unforgettable.

Ralph George Hansen wasborn April 11,1930 on the Hansenfamily farm just north of Walnut toGeorge and Ella Hansen. Ralphattended country schools northof Walnut, and graduated fromWalnut high school in 1947. Aftergraduation Ralph worked with hisfather on the farm that has nowbeen in the family for over 125years.On May 15, 1949, Ralph wasunited in marriage to Marjorie AnnMortensen at Bethel Baptist Church in Harlan, Iowa.

Jack Lee McCool, the son of Larry Steven and Juanita Jane (Theulen) McCool, was born on December 3, 1952, in Harlan, Iowa. He attended school in Tennant, Iowa, through the third grade. When the Tennant school consolidated with the Shelby, Iowa, school, becoming Shelby-Tennant Community School, Jack continued his education in Shelby; he graduated with the Class of 1971.After graduation, Jack entered the United States Army.

Jan Lakers (85), of Elk Horn, NE died on Saturday, April, 1, 2023.  She was born August 13, 1937 in Manning, IA the daughter of Arlo & Thelma (Ramsey) Hodne.Jan was married to John (Jack) Lakers on April 6, 1956. Jack and Jan celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2006 with their family. Jan was a member of St.

Randall Norman Hansen, aka Randy, was born in Harlan, Iowa, on April 15, 1949 to parents, Norman and Hazel. His sister, Dixie, was born three years later. Although he wasn’t thrilled about it, he decided to let her stay.The family lived in Jacksonville, Iowa, and Randy attended Harlan High School, and graduated in 1967. He did a tour of duty in Viet Nam from 1969-1970. (which he called the worst Senior Field Trip ever).
