Jackie Norton

Harlan - Jackie Loylene Norton was born to John and Helen (Meisland) Clark on February 12, 1933, in Harlan, Iowa. She grew up on her family’s farm and attended country school. Jackie was the third of seven children, so she was often found babysitting her siblings. She was also known as the cook of her family.Jackie found the love of her life when she met Lyle Norton. They were united in marriage on May 9, 1953.

Luke Clark

Harlan - Luke passed away December 30th, 2024. He was 70 years old. He was born November 11, 1954 in Oskaloosa, Iowa the son of Gerald and Shirley (Lamere) Clark. Luke received his education from Harlan Community High School and graduated with the class of 1973.

Nancy Ann Kaufman

Harlan - Nancy Ann Kaufman was born to Henry and Barbara (Helwig) Kaufman on May 2, 1960 in Harlan, Iowa. She attended grade school at St. Michael’s Catholic School, and in Junior High moved to Harlan Community Schools where she graduated in 1978. While in school, Nancy was very active in sports. She started all 5 years for the Harlan Community High School Softball team and played in state tennis doubles her junior and senior years.

Nancy Ann Mohr

Council Bluffs - Nancy Ann Robinson Mohr was born April 18, 1942, in Council Bluffs, IA to Kenneth and Betty (Glebe) Robinson. Nancy attended schools in Council Bluffs, Neola and Avoca, graduating in only three years from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs. Nancy attended Epworth Methodist Church in Council Bluffs and was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Avoca.

Marilyn Anderson

Harlan - Marilyn Marlene Anderson, daughter of Thomas and Ella (Brensel) Kroger was born on October 28, 1936 in Audubon, Iowa.  She was one of twelve children.  She graduated from Audubon High School with the class of 1952.In 1954, Marilyn moved to Harlan, Iowa, where she met Gerald Anderson through her brother Louis.  They were married on June 2, 1956 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan.  Six children were born to this union.  Marilyn was a

Betty Ann Smith

IRWIN -  Betty Ann Smith, 79, passed away on December 13, 2024, at Azria Health Longview in Missouri Valley, Iowa after a long battle with cancer and memory loss. She was born at home in Dunlap, Iowa to parents, Addis Donnie Smith and Gertrude Fern (Madison) Smith on October 7, 1945.

Nancy Hall

Red Oak - On a warm summer evening, Gary and Pam Hall went to the hospital to have a baby. A few minutes before midnight, Nancy Meggin Hall was born in Red Oak, Iowa, on June 28, 1976. She was welcomed home by her older siblings, Ann, Dawn and Alan who were excited to have a new, baby sister.

Shelby - Douglas Milton Kiesel, the son of Elmer and Lucille W. (Emmons) Kiesel, was born on January 6, 1932 in Shelby, Iowa. He attended and graduated from Shelby High School in 1950. On April 30, 1953, he married Betty Jane Best, at the Shelby Methodist Church. To this union two children were born: Mike and Linda.Doug enlisted in the service on December 10, 1952, and was honorable discharged on October 29, 1954.

Tamra Rueschenberg

Harlan - Tamra “Tami” Rueschenberg, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 61 years old.Tami was born on February 10, 1963, to Raymond and Viola (Weis) Musich in Harlan, IA. The youngest of seven children, Tami showed an interest in nature and a love for music from a young age. Tami was a creative spirit, and music was a thread that ran through everything she did.

Harlan - Sandra Sue (Frank) Kelley, the daughter of Gerald and Maude (Fogarty) Frank was born May 1, 1935, in Shelby County, Iowa. She grew up on the family farm just east of Kirkman, Iowa. She was active in Rainbow and 4-H and was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, beginning in Kirkman. She graduated from Kirkman High school and married Thomas B.

He attended grade school and high school at Harlan Community Schools graduating in 1991. Brian grew up on an acreage outside of Harlan with his mom, dad, two brothers and two sisters.

Franklin Nelsen

Audubon - Franklin Wilson Nelsen was born in Audubon, IA, on October 2, 1948, to Emmert and Margaret (Herron) Nelsen. He was the baby of 8 children, and according to most, his momma’s favorite. He grew up mostly in Audubon, with a brief stint in Colorado Springs. Upon leaving Colorado Springs, he moved back to Audubon and graduated from Audubon High School with the class of 1967.

Joseph Stein

HARLAN - Joseph Micheal Stein, son of Micheal Ambrose and Isabelle Mary (Foxhoven) Stein, was born on January 13, 1942, on the family farm in rural Portsmouth, Iowa. He attended country school, along with his 8 siblings, and graduated from Harlan High School in 1959. He was a longtime member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.Joe left the farm, after the death of his father, and moved to Harlan, Iowa, with his mother and siblings.
