Ruth Arlene Busing, 98, died on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Azria Health Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley. She was born on October 16, 1925, in Honey Creek, Iowa to Frederick and Helen (Cole) Day. She grew up in Honey Creek and attended country school and graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1944. On September 21.

Clifford Smith “Cliff”, age 68, resident of Harlan, Iowa passed away on August 13, 2024 in Omaha, Nebraska. Cliff was born on March 5, 1956 in Omaha, Nebraska, to Albert and Velma (Robinson) Smith.Clifford moved with his parents to Magnolia, Iowa in 1964 and attended Logan-Magnolia Schools until he enlisted in the Army, May of 1976. He was stationed in South Korea in 1978 where he met and married Chong Su Yi, in Seoul, Korea in 1979.

RoseAnn Jean Schnack was born on March 24, 1933, the daughter of Ray and Dorothy (Leinen) Williams in Panama, Iowa. RoseAnn’s educational journey began at a country school near Persia, and she proudly graduated from Persia High School with the class of 1951. As the eldest girl in her family, she carried the responsibility of guiding her younger siblings.

Amethyst Marie Phipps was born to Letha Schrader and David Phipps November 21, 1978. Amethyst had no children of her own biologically but she loved her friends’ children fiercely. She babysat, showed up to games and recitals, and was “Aunt Aimee” to so many. With such a big heart, it was no wonder she ended up being in health care as a CNA.

Mildred G. “Midge” Goeser, age 94, of Council Bluffs, passed away April 16, 2024 at Amelia Place. Midge was born September 4, 1929 in Portsmouth, IA to the late John J. and Kunigunda “Kuni” (Foxhoven) Fuhs. She married Marvin Schaben on January 11, 1951 at St. Mary’s Church in Portsmouth. They were blessed with three children, Myron, Peggy, and Patricia.

Marie Amelia Blum, daughter of Frank J. and Estella (Weiland) Heese, was born on May 23, 1926, on her family’s farm southwest of Earling, Iowa.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling, where she remained a lifelong member.  She attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School, graduating with the class of 1944.On October 17, 1945, Marie was united in marriage to Zeno Blum at St.

 Melvin Elliott Vogt, Sr. was born on September 29, 1946, the son of Fred and Shirley (Young) Vogt in Oakland, Nebraska. He was baptized into the Presbyterian faith as a child, grew up in Bancroft, Nebraska and graduated from Bancroft High School with the class of 1964. He then attended college classes and enlisted in the United States Air Force.Mel married Kathy Frampton and the couple had two children, Melvin Jr. “Mike” and Rodneylee.
