    NORMAN, OK -- Donald Earl Gray, Jr., 62, Norman, OK, died September 21.    Services will be held Monday, Oct. 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Peace United Church of Christ in Walnut with burial in the Layton Township Cemetery at Walnut.    Gray is survived by his father, Donald (Joan) Gray, Sr.

    HARLAN -- Rita Isabel Claussen, 87, Harlan, died October 8 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  A prayer service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.  Visitation is Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.

    MANILLA -- Pauline Ripley, 97, Manilla, died October 7 at the Manilla Manor.    Services were held Monday, Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. at Church of Christ in Irwin with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Irwin.    Ripley is survived by son Lee Armentrout of Denison; stepdaughter Joyce (Bob) Otkin of Minnesota; six nieces and three nephews.    Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan was in charge of arrangements. 

    LIBERAL, KS -- Wilda Grace “Grandma K” Knudsen, 86, Liberal, KS, died Wednesday, Sept. 21 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.    Services were held Saturday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church in Liberal with burial in the Restlawn Cemetery.    Knudsen is survived by sons Dr.

    EARLING -- Russell “Rusty” John Buckley, 67, Earling, died October 5 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.    Services were held Monday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling with burial in the St.

    AVOCA – Helen Davis Parker, 86, Avoca, died October 2.    Services will be held Friday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Roeder Mortuary in Omaha, NE.  Visitation will be Friday from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

    HARLAN – Mary Edith Begley, 106, Harlan, died October 3 at Elm Crest Retirement Community.    Private services will be held.    Begley is survived by daughter Marjorie (Kenneth) Thomsen of Tennant; son Donald (Mela Vee) Begley of Stockton, CA; brother Fred Shaw of Kansas City, MO; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.    Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan is in charge of arrangements.

    HARLAN – Mary Clare Bowman, 80, Harlan, died Monday, Oct. 3 in Earling.    Services were held Thursday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan with private burial of ashes at a later date.    Bowman is survived by children Cynthia (Greg) Bennet, Tony (Jane) Horning and Tim Horning; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.    Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan was in charge of arrangements.

    HARLAN -- Gerald L. “Jerry” Nairn, 70, Harlan, died Monday, Sept. 26 in Harlan.    Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 8 at 11 a.m. at Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery at Pierson.  A memorial prayer service will be held Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan.
