Ridge, 100, Harlan, died March 15 at Elm Crest Retirement Community.    Services will be held Saturday, March 18 at 11 a.m. at Congregational United Church of Christ in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.    An Eastern Star Service will be held Friday, March 17 at 7 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.  Visitation is Friday from 2-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.

    OMAHA, NE -- Richard Melvin Schomer, 62, Omaha, NE, died February 6 at his home.    Services will be held Saturday, April 8 at 2 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.    Schomer is survived by sons Jason Schomer of Apache Junction, AZ and Jeffrey Schomer of Gilbert, AZ; brothers Duane Schomer of Omaha and Jerry Schomer of Omaha; and sister Kathy Anderson of Avoca.

    ATLANTIC -- Funeral services for Ralph Victor Riggs of Atlantic will be Saturday, March 18 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic.      Visitation with the family will be held from 9-11 a.m. prior to service in the sanctuary of the church.

    HARLAN -- Phyllis A. Robinson, 96, Harlan, formerly of Shelby, died Thursday, March 2 in Harlan.    Services were held Monday, March 6 at 10:30 a.m.

    EARLING -- Marcus J. Stessman, 88, Earling, died March 4 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services will be held Wednesday, March 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling with burial in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Earling.  A Knights of Columbus rosary will be held Tuesday, March 7 at 7 p.m. at the church.  Visitation is Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.

    AVOCA -- Vincent Jens Hansen, 99, Avoca, died March 4 at Avoca Specialty Care.    Services will be held Tuesday, March 7 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Walnut with burial in the Layton Township Cemetery at Walnut.  Visitation is Tuesday from 1-2 p.m.

    HARLAN -- James Buwalda, 43, Harlan, died March 1 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Buwalda was the owner of the Harlan Pizza Ranch and partner in the Denison Pizza Ranch.    Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Sharon Buwalda, of Sioux Falls, SD; brother Joel Buwalda of Sioux Falls; and sister Joy (Jerry) Steenhoek of Haywarden.    Services are pending at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.
