    SHELBY -- Emma Caroline McLaughlin, 99, Shelby, died January 17 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m.

    HARLAN -- Joyce Elaine Stahl, 76, Harlan, died January 13 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.    Private services will be held Monday, Jan. 18 at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.    Stahl is survived by sons Robert Craig Stahl of Harlan, Kent (Kelley) Stahl of North Platte, NE, and Tracey (June) Stahl of Trent, SD; daughter Penny Anderson of Harlan; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

    WALNUT -- Orris Lowell Drake, 85, Walnut, died January 13 at his home.    Services were held Saturday, Jan. 16 at 1:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Harlan with burial in the Monroe Township Cemetery at Walnut.  Visitation were Saturday from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

    AVOCA -- Edward “Bud” Telkamp, 86, Avoca, died January 11 at Veteran’s Medical Center.    Private family services will be held.    Telkamp is survived by daughters Cynthia Fetters of El Dorado Springs, MO, Penny Pattee of Avoca, and Kimberly Telkamp of Avoca; son Scott Telkamp of El Dorado Springs; sister Ruth Lenz of Decorah; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.    Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca is in charge of arrangements.

    EARLING -- Gerald “Chris” Willian Christensen, 75, Earling, died January 10 at the Little Flower Haven Nursing Home in Earling.    Services were held Thursday, Jan. 14 at 10:30 a.m.

    ELK HORN -- Gary Wayne Sievers, Sr., 68, Elk Horn, died January 10 at Select Specialty Hospital in Omaha, NE.    Graveside services were held Thursday, Jan. 14 at 10:30 a.m.

    EARLING -- Gerald Christensen, 75, Earling, died January 10 at the Little Flower Haven Nursing Home in Earling.    Services are pending at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.    Christensen is survived by sons Timothy Christensen of Earling and Troy Christensen of Peoria, AZ.

    AVOCA -- Vernon L. Karstens, 94, Avoca, died January 9 at the Avoca Nursing and Rehab Center.    Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca with burial in the Graceland Cemetery at Avoca.  Family greeted friends Monday, Jan. 11 from 5-7 p.m.

    SHELBY -- Patricia Mortensen, 92, Shelby, died Saturday, Jan. 9 in Omaha.    Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m.

    IRWIN - Theresa C. Goetz, 86, Irwin, died on Friday, Jan. 1, 2016 at Myrtue Medical Center, Harlan.    Visitation will be Thurs., January 7 from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. all are held at Pauley Jones Funeral Home, Harlan. Services will be Friday, January 8 at 10 a.m. at St.

    PANAMA - Services for Kathryn Huebert, 40, were held on Sat., December 26 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Panama. Huebert died on Tues., Dec. 22 at Creighton Univ. Medical Center, Omaha.    She is survived by her mother, Ruth (Wegner) Huebert, Panma and her sister, Anne Cundiff, Waukee.

    PORTSMOUTH -- Gerald L. Waltz, 84, Portsmouth, died December 20 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Our Lady of Fatima Church in Portsmouth with burial in the St. Mary’s Cemetery at Portsmouth.  A wake service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 7 p.m.
