Marvel Lou Jacobsen was born on April 6, 1935, to Louie J. and Alma A. (Gruhn) Thomsen near Gray, Iowa. She was baptized and later confirmed her faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. Marvel graduated from Harlan High School with the Class of 1953. Following her education, she worked as a telephone operator in Harlan and for the Mutual of Omaha.On February 1, 1957, Marvel was united in marriage to Frederick I.

 Russell “Russ” Coenen, age 75, of Woodward, Iowa passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16th, 2025.Russ was born on May 1, 1950. He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard of which he loved dearly.  Upon discharge, he owned a State Farm insurance business for many years.

Shirley Darlene Wilwerding daughter of Chester and Bessie Haley was born on August 5, 1937 in Carbon, IA.  Shirley attended grade school in Carbon and graduated from Corning High School.  She continued her education at Creston Junior College and Iowa Western College obtaining an LPN nursing degree.  She worked as a cardiac nurse in the ICU unit at St Joseph Hospital in Omaha NE.  As an adult she was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Churc

 Nancy Ann Christensen, daughter of Robert and Arlene (Campbell) Montgomery, was born November 21, 1944 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  At a young age, her family moved to Harlan where she grew up and met the love of her life, David Christensen. On June 16, 1963, Nancy and David were married at the Methodist Church in Harlan.  Together, they welcomed two daughters into their family, Linda and Kim, who were the pride and joy of Nancy’s life.

Dennis Quinn, age 78, of Chaska, Minnesota, formally of North Mankato, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.Born in Carroll, Iowa, on October 17, 1946, Dennis was the son of John and Estelle Quinn. Dixie Ann Thompson was born on February 2, 1931 to Roy and Anna Larson in Harlan, Iowa. She was baptized at the Irwin Church of Christ and graduated from Irwin High School in 1948.Following graduation Dixie attended Barnes Beauty School for one year where she met her first husband, Phillip Gallagher. They were married in Council Bluffs, Iowa and together welcomed their son Patrick.

Charles Leo Klein was born on April 1, 1934, to Alfons and Marcella (Langenfeld) Klein near Earling, Iowa. He was raised on a farm north of Earling. Charles was baptized and later confirmed his faith at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he remained a lifelong member. He received his education at St. Joseph Catholic Schools and graduated with the Class of 1952.

Rita Caroline Kloewer was born the fourth of eleven children on September 1, 1932, to Peter and Frances (Gross) Mumm in Earling, Iowa. She was baptized, confirmed, and received her education at St. Joseph Catholic Church and School in Earling, graduating with the Class of 1950.On May 1, 1956, she was united in marriage to James Michael Kloewer at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Bonnie Mae Messerschmidt Eggerss was born on March 6, 1934, to Walter F. and Mabel A. (Krohn) Messerschmidt in Shelby County, Iowa. John W. Hess IV was born November 6, 1945, in Brigham City, Utah, son of John W. Hess III and Thelma Maxine Dunning, fifteen years into their marriage. His mother became so violently ill that she thought she had a tumor. The doctor told her she had a tumor alright–a two-legged one. They lived on a ranch in northern Utah, in a house with 3 rooms and a path until John was 9 years old, when they moved into Tremonton.
