The HCHS Cyclones boys basketball team has returned to the win column after a tough 3-game stretch defeating Hawkeye Ten opponent, the Atlantic Trojans 59-44 at Wells Fargo Arena.
“It’s a fun place to play and it’s a good environment,” said Junior Dallas McDowell. “We started playing as a team. We struggled in some areas, but we were able to figure it out and get our defense together, score the ball, and it was a fun time.”

Thursday, the HCHS Cyclones boys wrestling team competed in the Logan-Magnolia Round Robin event featuring three other schools, and managed to come away with two wins and one loss. The Cyclones beat MVAOCOU 48-18, and West Monana-Whiting 39-33, but lost to Logan-Magnolia 58-21.

The HCHS Cyclones boys basketball team has hit a bump in the road losing their third consecutive game 62-53 Friday night at home against their rival, the Lewis Central Titans.
“I thought our effort was incredible tonight,” said Cyclone Head Coach Mitch Osborn. “I thought we played extremely hard. The kids were charged up. We had opportunities. The free throw line was the difference. They were 22-for-28 and we were 7-for-17.”

Despite getting off to a slow start Friday night at home against the Lewis Central Titans trailing 17-5, at the end of the first quarter, the HCHS girls basketball team got going in the second half winning 63-51 for their ninth consecutive victory and 17th of the season.

IKM-Manning Wolves Junior Ben Ramsey scored 31 points in Thursday’s 55-36 road victory over the Boyer Valley Bulldogs, leading them to their eighth win of the season and second victory in a row.
“My shots felt good,” Ramsey said. “Setting good screens, the guys were driving and kicking out for 3’s with good plays, and other guys stepped up too.”

The IKM-Manning Wolves girls basketball team got back in the win column Thursday night on the road with a 48-39 victory over the Boyer Valley Bulldogs for their ninth win of the season.
“It feels good,” said Wolves Junior Anna Stangl. “We’ve been working for this win for a while. It feels good to get it under our belts for tomorrow night.”
