Catherine Glenn

Funeral services for Catherine Glenn, age 94, of Harlan, Iowa were held Saturday, July 19, 2025 at First United Methodist Church, Grand Junction, Iowa.  Pastor Phil Nielsen of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan officiated.  Music was provided by Marcia Winder and Gary Glenn, accompanied by Maggie Glenn.Casket bearers were Jonathan Glenn, Maggie Glenn, Chad Kroger, Ben Kroger, Dalton Glenn, Brian Glenn, Mica McCarty-Glenn, and Christine Rincon.

John Hemminger

John A. Hemminger, 82, was born in Center Township, Shelby County, Iowa, to his parents Anna Pauline and John M. Hemminger at their home on a farm east of Harlan. John was the youngest of four children, Donna, Ronald, and Charlene, who grew up learning a plethora of skills that would serve him well throughout his life. John attended a one-room school located two miles from his home until the 8th grade.

Kenneth Fahn

Kenneth Albert Fahn, son of Leonard and Alice (Shiltz) Fahn, was born on June 30, 1950 in Defiance, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan, Iowa. Kenneth began his education at St. Michael’s Elementary School and went on to graduate from Harlan Community High School with the class of 1968.Following graduation, Kenneth joined the United States Navy. He served from 1968 to 1972.

Dixie Rash

Dixie Diane Rash was born on March 26, 1959 in Leon, Iowa to Wayne and Myrna (Wheatley) Eckles. Dixie attended Westgate Elementary in Omaha and then graduated from Griswold High School. Her passion for Court Reporting led her to AIB College of Business, where she earned her degree, paving the way for a successful career.

Marvin W. Martin

Persia - Marvin W. Martin was born on June 22, 1932 to Francis and Mary (Davis) Martin in Persia, Iowa. He attended school and graduated from Persia High School with the class of 1951.Marvin found the love of his life when he met Ruby Arlene Peterson. They were united in marriage on July 12, 1953 in Spencer, Iowa. This union was blessed with four children: Patricia, Susan, David, and Daniel.

Lynda Kay Karel

Sumter, SC  - Lynda Kay Nielsen Karel, age 80, beloved wife of 60 years to Robert James Karel, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family.Born in Pensacola, FL, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Nielsen and Evelyn Larson Nielsen.  After graduating high school, Lynda went on to obtain a master’s degree in education and enjoyed a very long successful career as a math teacher.  She taught at Gilbert High
