Dixie Thompson

Dixie Ann Thompson was born on February 2, 1931 to Roy and Anna Larson in Harlan, Iowa. She was baptized at the Irwin Church of Christ and graduated from Irwin High School in 1948.Following graduation Dixie attended Barnes Beauty School for one year where she met her first husband, Phillip Gallagher. They were married in Council Bluffs, Iowa and together welcomed their son Patrick.

Cyclones drop district opener to the Tigers

CARROLL – The Harlan Community Cyclones dropped their district opener to the Carroll Tigers on Friday night, falling 33-28 in a back-and-forth contest.

Area teams fair well at Tri-Center cross country invitational

NEOLA – The area teams of HCHS, IKM-Manning, AHSTW, and Exira-EHK all competed Tuesday afternoon at the Tri-Center Invitational held at Quail Run Golf Course in Neola.The boys’ race kicked off first, with HCHS junior Jeffrey Gross leading the area finishers in third place overall with a time of 16:43.03.IKM-Manning senior Camden Morris followed in 11th (17:40.45), just ahead of sophomore teammate Akeo Maynard, who placed 14th (17:53.85).

Charles Leo Klein was born on April 1, 1934, to Alfons and Marcella (Langenfeld) Klein near Earling, Iowa. He was raised on a farm north of Earling. Charles was baptized and later confirmed his faith at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he remained a lifelong member. He received his education at St. Joseph Catholic Schools and graduated with the Class of 1952.
