Victims of Harlan house fire are identified
HARLAN — Authorities have released their findings regarding the Tuesday, September 16 residential fire in Harlan.When authorities got to the home, located at 1108 3rd St., the house was full of smoke and they found two people inside, a man and a woman. They were taken outside for medical care, then taken to Myrtue Medical Center, where they were pronounced deceased.The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office identified them as 52-year-old Dominique Pontzius and her 24-year- old son, Sebastian Pontzius.According to a press release issued by Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, a medical examiner confirmed their deaths were the result of the fire, which was determined to have been intentionally set as an act of suicide for both individuals. Authorities say no foul play is suspected, and no other persons are being sought.
