SCSB announces consolidation of bank branches
SHELBY COUNTY — Shelby County State Bank (SCSB) announced today that it will consolidate operations and close its Irwin, Portsmouth, and Battle Creek branch locations, effective April 30, 2026 at 4:00 pm.
“We are incredibly grateful for the relationships we’ve built in these communities over the years,” said Kevin Campbell, President and CEO of SCSB. “We understand that change can be difficult, and our priority is to make this transition as smooth as possible while continuing to provide the personal service and support our customers expect from SCSB.”
The branch consolidations are part of SCSB’s long-term strategy to adapt to evolving customer preferences and ensure the bank remains well-positioned to serve its customers across its market area.
Customers of the Irwin, Portsmouth, and Battle Creek branches will continue to have full access to all banking services at nearby SCSB locations, as well as through online and mobile banking, ATMs, and telephone banking. Account numbers, terms, and services will remain unchanged, and customers do not need to take any action because of this change. Bank staff will be available prior to the closures to answer questions, discuss service options, and assist customers during the transition.
