Wolves qualify five state events

 MANSON -- The IKM-Manning track teams both placed in the top three of Thursday’s Class 1-A State Qualifying Meet at Manson, combining to qualify four relays and one individual event for this week’s Co-Ed State Track and Field Championships in Des Moines (May 19-21).
 The Wolves placed second in the boys team standings with 85 points, trailing only Manson Northwest Webster’s 125. IKM-Manning qualified three relays for state and clocked season-best times in all three, placing first in the 4x200 (1:34.73) and second in both the medley (3:45.79) and 4x400 (3:32.84). The Wolves’ medley time was the fifth-fastest qualifier in 1-A. Team members of all three relays included Ridge Muhlbauer, Noah Harlow, Austin Dahlgren and Trevor Cast.
 The IKM-M girls placed third overall with 92 points, trailing Sioux Central (127) and Manson Northwest Webster (106). The Wolves’ two state qualifiers were Shyanne Sporrer in the 800-meter run and the distance medley relay team of Aly Stadtlander, Gabby Cadwell, Payton Sporrer and Shyanne Sporrer. Both events placed first on the day and Sporrer’s 800 time of 2:31 was the ninth-fastest qualifier in 1-A.
