Wolves, Lady Vikes victorious in Cyclone girls jamboree

 HARLAN -- The IKM-Manning girls basketball team used a big run in each quarter to pull away from Harlan Community 37-24 in the final matchup of Thursday’s eight-team jamboree in Harlan.
 In other action, Red Oak defeated Griswold, AHSTW beat the HCHS JV 25-10 and Panorama beat Atlantic 34-16. Each scrimmage consisted of just two regulation quarters.
 IKM-M used a hounding full court press, fast breaks and solid half court execution to lead wire-to-wire against the Cyclones. The Wolves scored directly off the opening tip and took a quick 12-2 lead, then finished off HCHS with an 11-2 second-quarter spurt that included 3-pointers by Aly Stadtlander, Kia Rasmussen and Paige Gaskill. Rasmussen hit three total treys and scored 13 points.
 AHSTW led 17-5 after one quarter against the Cyclone JV and got six points from Katie Anzalone. The Lady Vikes will host Red Oak in their season opener Tuesday.
