Volleyball: Spartans swept by Woodbine

 ELK HORN (Oct. 7) -- Poor starts in the first two games set the tone for an 0-3 loss Thursday night as the Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton volleyball team was swept by Woodbine 15-25, 15-25, 15-25.
 The visiting Tigers raced out to a 12-1 lead in set one and a 7-1 lead in set two. Spartan senior Mollie Rasmussen opened the third set with an ace, but Exira-EHK never led after 5-4 and this time Woodbine pulled away late.
 Prior to the game, Rasmussen and Alisa Partridge were recognized along with their parents for Senior Night.
 Woodbine senior Whitney Kuhlman led all players with 11 kills in the match, followed by Tiger freshmen Charlie Pryor and Danyelle Steinkuehler with six and five kills, respectively.
 Kuhlman added three blocks and a team-high 13 digs. Addison Murdock served 18-for-18 with an ace.
