Vikings threaten century mark, win 99-20

AVOCA -- The AHSTW boys basketball team finished just one point shy of the century mark in Tuesday night’s season opener vs. Woodbine, pounding the Tigers 99-20 in non-conference action.
The Vikings, who shot 52.6 percent from the field while also grabbing 27 offensive rebounds, led 27-9 after one quarter before extending the margin to 58-14 at the half and 87-18 after three. The entire second half was played with a running clock outside of free throws, timeouts and the quarter break.
Junior guard R.J. Harris led the Vikings with 20 points and tied Blaine Lees for the team lead with eight rebounds. Jake Martin hit 6-of-8 shots and scored 15 points, followed by Kevin Jorgensen with 10, Preslyn Grobe nine, Lees eight and Brandon Osbahr and Rhett Welsh with seven points each.
