Three Cyclones perform well for CB Swim Team

 COUNCIL BLUFFS -- Three Harlan Community High School student-athletes competed this winter for the Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln boys swim team, also known as the CB Swim Team. HCHS participants included senior Malachi Purcell, freshman Kaiden Milliken and freshman Reilly McMurphy.
 The team was coached by HCHS alum Logan Maxwell, a 7th grade social studies teacher at Kirn Junior High School in Council Bluffs, and consisted of athletes from Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, HCHS, Underwood and Tri-Center.
 The CB Swim Team finished 3-2 in dual meets and placed third in tournaments at Omaha Benson and Des Moines Hoover. HCHS swimmers were part of six season-best times recorded at the district meet in Johnston.
 Purcell finished with the team’s top time in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly while McMurphy posted the team’s best time in the 100-yard backstroke.
