Spartans win in OT at West Harrison
MONDAMIN (Dec. 18) -- Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton overcame 18 turnovers and 15 West Harrison offensive rebounds Friday night to outlast the Hawkeyes 65-58 in an overtime Rolling Valley Conference boys basketball game.
The score was tied 49-49 at the end of regulation before the Spartans outscored the hosts 16-9 in the extra four-minute period.
Senior Tyler Petersen led Exira-EHK with 25 points and eight rebounds on the night, Trey Petersen had 14 points and eight assists and Jackson Radcliff had 13 points and five boards.
Exira-EHK was outrebounded 37-30 overall but the final turnover margin was about even (18-17). The Spartans shot 21-of-41 from the field (51 percent), hit 7-of-18 threes and outscored the Hawkeyes 16-6 at the free throw line.
West Harrison was led by 27 points from Sage Evans, 14 from Mason King, who hit three treys, and 12 from Koleson Evans.
