Spartans clinch 8-man playoff berth

 EXIRA -- Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton wrapped up a playoff berth in 8-Player football last Friday night with a convincing 62-8 rout of CAM, Anita. The Spartans improved to 5-3 overall and 5-1 in District 7, clinching the district runner-up playoff spot (via tiebreakers) regardless of how they fare in Friday’s regular-season finale at East Mills (3-5, 3-3).
 Exira-EHK relied on a potent ground game against CAM, led by quarterback Connor Westergaard’s 12 carries for 152 yards and four touchdowns. Drew Buckholdt also rushed the ball 12 times for 121 yards and two scores and Cole Madsen added a short TD run.
