Spartan girls notch first win

 ELK HORN (Dec. 3) -- Macy Emgarten just missed a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds and freshman Shay Burmeister tallied 12 points and five boards Tuesday night, leading Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton past Glidden-Ralston 61-25 in Rolling Valley Conference girls basketball action. The Spartans improved to 1-1 overall and are 1-0 in the RVC.
 The Spartans raced out to a 40-11 lead at halftime and cruised to victory, knocking down 13-of-41 three-pointers on the night and grabbing 19 offensive rebounds. Emgarten hit 6-of-11 treys while Jacey Anthofer (2-for-2), Ellie Schultes and Burmeister added two each.
 Schultes finished with eight points, eight boards, four steals and four assists. Quinn Grubbs also scored eight points to go along with six rebounds and three assists.
