Softball: Exira-EHK walks past Glidden-Ralston
KIMBALLTON (June 21) -- The Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton softball team made quick work of Glidden-Ralston on Monday, scoring 11 runs in the first inning and batting just twice in a 12-0, three-inning victory.
The 11th-ranked (Class 1A) Spartans also topped Ar-We-Va 7-3 on Wednesday, improving to 19-4 overall.
Incredibly, 11 Exira-EHK batters came to the plate in Monday’s first inning before a ball was put in play. There were seven walks, three hit batters, one strikeout and multiple run-scoring balls to the backstop prior to Quinn Grubbs’ two-run single making it 9-0.
Mollie Rasmussen added an RBI single in the first and Shay Burmeister’s RBI double made it 12-0 in the second.
Rasmussen pitched three perfect innings for the win, striking out one while letting her defense make plays.
