Senior Night “Memory of a Lifetime” for Taylor Gross

Long-time Wolves’ manager starts and plays in win over AHSTW

MANNING -- The IKM-Manning girls basketball team defeated AHSTW 74-35 last Thursday night, but that was hardly the story of the game.
Long-time team manager Taylor Gross, the only senior on the squad this season, was not only honored before the Senior Night game, but also started along with sophomore sister Peyton Gross, played briefly and attempted three shots before resuming her bench duties as manager.
Taylor is the daughter of Paul and (assistant coach) Joy Gross of Manilla and is a frequent participant in Special Olympics events at the local and state levels. She has a bone disorder called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which causes weakness in the bones.
Taylor’s diagnosis, however, has never prevented her from being a major part of the athletic programs at I-K-M and IKM-Manning, especially when it comes to basketball and softball, which is coached by Joy Gross in the summer. Taylor has been a fixture in the dugout for many years and has served as a basketball manager since the third grade.
