Ogden ends Wolves' season in district opener

IKM-Manning boys finish 6-14

    OGDEN (Feb. 15) -- Ogden outscored IKM-Manning 28-11 in the third quarter Monday night and held off the Wolves 72-60 in a Class 1A district quarterfinal boys basketball game.
 IKM-M, which finished the season 6-14 overall, held the Bulldogs to just four points in the second quarter - scoring 16 - but allowed 68 in the other three periods.
 Ogden made 11-of-21 three-pointers and shot 53 percent overall. Five of those treys came in the pivotal third stanza as the Bulldogs turned a 28-23 halftime deficit into a 51-39 advantage.
 Ty Heeren knocked down 6-of-10 threes and led Ogden with 24 points. Also scoring in double figures were Lane Snedden with 15, Kolby Moorman 13 and Noah Lingren 11 (3-of-6 treys). Snedden added 10 assists to go along with six rebounds.
 IKM-Manning made 10-of-26 three-pointers in defeat and reached 60 points for the second time this season.
 Two seniors led the way for the Wolves as Brody Swearingen tallied 15 points and eight rebounds and Kyler Rasmussen had 14 points, seven boards and three steals, making 4-of-10 threes. Connor Keller scored eight points while Nolan Ramsey and Drew Doyel both chipped in seven off the bench. Doyel also had three steals.
 IKM-M will graduate five seniors off this year’s squad in Connor Keller, Kyler Rasmussen, Brody Swearingen, Drew Doyel and Hayden McLaughlin.
 Ogden (12-9) advanced to Thursday night’s district semifinal round and hosted Coon Rapids-Bayard (6-9).
