Monarch girls hold off HCHS, 3-2

 DENISON -- The Harlan Community girls soccer team answered both Denison-Schleswig goals in the first half Friday night but was held scoreless over the final 40 minutes of a 3-2 road loss to the Monarchs.
 After being shut out in its previous three matches, HCHS finally generated some offensive opportunities but was unable to avoid a fifth straight loss. The Cyclones fell to 1-5 overall and 1-2 in the Hawkeye Ten while D-S evened its record at 3-3.
 The Monarchs never trailed on the night, scoring first in the 13th minute on a goal by Alex Mohr. HCHS tied it four minutes later when Michaela Bissen assisted a Haley Arkfeld goal.
