Kicking for the Dream

Stephen Leinen, HCHS placekicker/punter and member of the National Honor Society (NHS), is looking to support his NHS project by raising funds for Colleen’s Dream. 

Colleen’s Dream is dedicated to funding scientific research with the primary goal of developing an accurate and accessible early-detection test for ovarian cancer.

Colleen’s Dream was founded in 2012 by Nicole Cundiff and her husband, Billy, an HCHS graduate and 12-year kicker in the NFL.

Stephen met Billy during a Cyclone football game last year, and the two have worked together to help Stephen further develop his kicking technique. 

To repay Billy’s kindness, Stephen wants to follow in the footsteps of former HCHS grads Greg Conry, Ethan Knudson, and Kyle Knudson, who all helped raise funds for Colleen’s Dream.

Last year, with the help of generous donors, Stephen was able to raise over $1,300 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand, an organization that helps fund childhood cancer research.
