HCHS Boys Golf loses to Clarinda

On Friday, the HCHS boys varsity golf team played against the Clarinda Cardinals and lost by 28 strokes.

“We struggled today to keep the ball in play on an unfamiliar course,” said HCHS Head Golf Coach Chad Swanson. “Some of the holes at Clarinda require playing to specific distances and specific targets and those are areas we just are not very good at yet.”

Despite a tough day, Swanson highlighted players on his roster who stood out on the course.

“Alex Bladt continued his consistent play,” he said. “He ran into trouble on #17 but other than that was solid all afternoon. Braydon Ernst is really hitting the ball well and needs to find his touch around the green to take his scores to the next level.”

Their next match will occur Tuesday at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club in which 13 teams will be participating in the Trojan Invitational.
