Football: Vikings roll by Big Reds

 MISSOURI VALLEY (Sept. 4) -- AHSTW quarterback Blake Holst fired three touchdown passes and ran in two more scores Friday night as the Viking football team topped Missouri Valley 39-6 to even their non-district record at 1-1.
 Leading 12-6 after one quarter, AHSTW’s defense pitched a shutout the rest of the way and the offense kept adding touchdowns to turn the game into a rout.
 Holst had a big game overall, completing 13-of-20 passes for 204 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions while adding 48 yards rushing and two short TDs.
 Blake Tuma was the top receiver for AHSTW, catching five passes for 116 yards and two scores (long of 29). Raydden Grobe had five receptions for 50 yards and Cole Scheffler added three for 38 and one TD.
 Junior running back Denver Pauley, meanwhile, carried the ball 18 times for 106 yards, including a 38-yard touchdown run.
 Missouri Valley (0-2) ran the ball effectively for 204 yards (4.9 ypc) but could only muster one touchdown as the Vikings came up with four takeaways. Garrison Gettler, Holst and Kaeden Schmitz all recovered fumbles and Scheffler picked off an interception.
