Fast times at LC Invite

Cyclone squads place fifth, show improvement

COUNCIL BLUFFS -- On a perfect night for track and field, the Glenwood girls and Lewis Central boys won team titles at Tuesday’s Lewis Central Co-Ed Invite while Harlan Community’s squads both placed fifth despite posting numerous season bests.
The HCHS boys scored 12 times in 10 events for a total of 74.5 points, earning gold medals from Marcus Klein in the 400-meter dash and Jon Bieker in the discus.
The Cyclone girls placed more often than the boys - 16 times in 15 events - but finished with less points (66.5) and no golds as they competed without two of their top performers in Allison Bruck and Payten Hoegh.
