Cyclones have a strong night at Denison

On Friday, the HCHS boys golf team played the Triangular Event in which they played against Boyer Valley and Denison at Majestic Hills Golf Course, finishing tied for first, but losing on a tiebreaker.

“We put one of our better team scores of the season on the board Friday afternoon at Denison,” said HCHS Head Golf Coach Chad Swanson.

Swanson highlighted an individual on his roster who had a big day out on the course.

“Jace Gubbels (38) had his best round of the season and was medalist highlighted by birdies on 2 of the last 3 holes,” he said.

The JV squad had a good day overall and finished strong against Denison.

“Our JV squad finished their excellent season with a 210 to 216 victory over Denison,” he added.

Their next match will take place Monday at the Hawkeye Ten Boys Golf Tournament at Red Oak Country Club at 9 a.m.
