Cyclone girls race past Wolves in hoops jamboree

 HARLAN (Nov. 21) -- The Harlan Community girls basketball team defeated IKM-Manning 42-22 Thursday night in a two-quarter jamboree game played in Harlan.
 HCHS raced out to leads of 8-0 and 13-2 against the Wolves and never looked back. The margin was cut to 18-12 late in the first quarter before the Cyclones used a 14-2 run to take control.
 Brecken Van Baale opened the pivotal stretch with two free throws and finished it with a three-pointer on her way to eight points. Caitlyn Leinen hit a trey and scored eight points as well.
 Lexi Branning led IKM-M with eight points, followed by Alexa Ahrenholtz with five and Bianca Cadwell four.
 Both teams showcased full court pressure for much of the 16-minute scrimmage, resulting in a high number of turnovers and fouls. In the first quarter alone, 16 fouls were called.
