Cyclone girls defend crown at Glenwood Cross Country Meet
GLENWOOD (Aug. 29) -- Urbandale placed two girls in the top five, but Harlan Community had just enough depth to outlast the J-Hawks and defend its team title at Saturday’s 46th annual Glenwood Cross Country Meet.
Scoring five runners between sixth and 17th, the Cyclone girls posted a winning score of 50 to hold off Urbandale (55), Glenwood (60) and Atlantic (94) in the team standings.
The HCHS boys, led by Trey Gross in fifth place, scored a 137 and finished fifth out of 12 teams behind Urbandale (50), Lewis Central (73), Glenwood (90) and Atlantic (94).
