Cyclone girls bowlers off to strong 2-0 start, boys 1-1

 HARLAN (Dec. 7) -- The Harlan Community girls bowling team is off to a 2-0 start on the season while the boys are 1-1 following home duals against Tri-Center and Shenandoah at Cyclone Lanes.
 The Cyclone girls defeated Tri-Center 2,402 to 1,836 last Thursday (Dec. 3) and easily defeated Shenandoah 2,419 to 1,683 on Monday.
 Lily Hegarty led the team with a two-game series of 396 vs. the Trojans, including a 218 in the first game of the year. Four other HCHS girls rolled sets of 300 or higher.
 Against the Fillies, Ania Kaster had the high series of 335 while Madison Horn (330) bowled a 202 game.
 The Cyclone boys rallied past Tri-Center 2,157 to 2,125 using an advantage of 92 pins (686-594) in the Baker games format. Brennon Munch and Andrew Andersen both scored a two-game series of 335 during the individual round for HCHS. Tri-Center’s Grant Way was the top bowler with a 393 (209-184).
 Shenandoah handed the Cyclone boys a 216-pin defeat on Monday, prevailing 2,582 to 2,366 using five series scores of 328 or higher. HCHS was led by Caleb Smith’s 362 (213-149) and Wyatt Powell’s 338 (168-170).
