Cyclone Camp of Champions draws 130 football players

 HARLAN -- Approximately 130 Harlan Community football players in grades 7-12 attended this year’s Cyclone Camp of Champions at Merrill Field August 2-6.
 The high school camp, which included about 70 players, was held Monday-Friday during the morning while the middle school camp was held Monday-Thursday in the afternoon.
 High school practices will begin on Monday, August 9, the Lions Club intrasquad scrimmage will be Thursday, Aug. 19 and the 2021 season opener is Friday, Aug. 27, vs. Lewis Central (at Harlan).
 The Cyclones are optimistic about the upcoming season on the heels of an outstanding 11-1 campaign that ended with a loss to North Scott in the Class 3A state championship game.
 HCHS returns seven all-district players and six all-staters from the 2020 squad. The Cyclones will still be a Class 3A school (District 6), but will now be competing in the state’s third-largest class following off-season realignment by the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
