Crusader boys hand Exira-EHK first loss, 61-54

ELK HORN -- The Coon Rapids-Bayard boys handed Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton its first loss of the basketball season Tuesday night, winning a tightly-contested Rolling Valley Conference game, 61-54.
Final statistics were nearly even across the board as both teams shot 53 percent from the field and 63 percent at the free throw line. Fouls were even at 21 apiece but CR-B ended up with a significant advantage at the charity stripe, making 20-of-32 compared to 12-of-19 for the Spartans.
Exira-EHK’s overall and conference record fell to 5-1 while the Crusaders improved to 3-4 overall and 3-3 in the RVC.
