Chamberlain scores 7.0 ppg. for Hastings

 HASTINGS, NEB. -- Shane Chamberlain, a 2018 Harlan Community graduate, completed his sophomore season with the Hastings College men’s basketball team this past winter, helping the NAIA Division II Broncos finish 16-16 overall and 8-12 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.
 Chamberlain, a 6-foot-6 forward, played in all 32 games and started 18 times for the Broncos, averaging 7.0 points and 1.8 rebounds while totaling 46 assists, 12 steals and five blocked shots. In 23.5 minutes per contest, Chamberlain shot 42.5 percent from the field and made 53-of-141 three-pointers (.376). He was 8-of-14 at the free throw line. Chamberlain totaled a season-high 21 points and five treys on January 25 vs. Briar Cliff and had two games with five assists.
 As a freshman in 2018-19, Chamberlain started 28 out of 31 games, played 26 minutes per night and averaged 9.9 points and 3.2 rebounds, adding 46 assists, 19 steals and seven blocks. He shot 41.9 percent overall and made 59-of-174 three-pointers (.339) and 31-of-43 free throws (.721). His best game was against Doane when he tallied 21 points, 10 rebounds and five three-pointers.
