Casey notches 200th career win

MANNING -- The IKM-Manning football team’s 49-8 rout of West Monona/Whiting last Friday marked a significant career milestone for head coach Tom Casey.
Improving his record to 200-103 over 31 seasons, Coach Casey became the 50th coach in Iowa prep football history to join the 200-win club. There are actually 51 Iowa coaches with 200-plus wins as Dowling Catholic’s Tom Wilson also notched his 200th win last Friday.
Casey started his football coaching career as an assistant for Manilla in 1978, then took the head job in 1985 - one year before Irwin-Kirkman joined forces with Manilla to form I-K-M. Casey’s Hawk teams went 143-89 through 2007.
Starting in 2008, Casey shared the head coaching duties at IKM-Manning with Floyd Forman, who is also a member of the 200-win club. Casey and Forman coached the Wolves from 2008-2012 before Forman retired. He has since returned to the staff as a volunteer assistant. Casey’s record at IKM-Manning now stands at 57-14.
