Cardinals sweep IKM-Manning

TREYNOR -- Adjusting to some mid-season lineup changes, the IKM-Manning volleyball team ran into an opponent Thursday night that appears to be rounding into late-season form.
And despite rallying to make things close in game one, the Wolves couldn’t match the overall firepower of Treynor in suffering their first conference loss of the season, 19-25, 14-25, 13-25.
Treynor’s balanced hitting attack compiled a team kill efficiency of .382 while IKM-Manning’s efficiency was .042, led by Kinze Brandt’s six kills, five from Kira Barry and four by Erin Langel.
Thursday’s outcome forced a three-way tie for second place in the Western Iowa Conference as the Wolves (9-7 overall), Treynor (19-7) and Underwood all stand at 4-1 in the WIC, a game back of Tri-Center (5-0). The Wolves will host the 12th-rated (2-A) Trojans on Tuesday night.
