Canada places 4th at Girls State Wrestling Tourney

 IOWA CITY (Jan. 22-23) -- AHSTW’s Bella Canada earned a fourth-place state medal at 195 pounds over the weekend at the 2021 IWCOA Girls State Wrestling Tournament in Iowa City.
 Canada went 4-2 during competition Friday and Saturday, earning 20 points for AHSTW and placing fourth out of 19 wrestlers in her bracket. Her only two losses came against Ankeny Centennial’s Grace Gray. Canada’s match-by-match results are as follows.
First Round: Bye.
Second Round: WBF 1:41 over Isabelle Kipp (South Winn.).
Quarterfinal: LBF 3:08 to Grace Gray (Ankeny Centennial).
Consolation Round 4: WBF 2:33 over Savannah Sistad (Creston/O-M).
Consolation Round 5: WBF :57 over Maia Foster (Decorah).
Consolation Semifinal: won 4-2 over Jessie Hutchinson (Newton).
3rd Place Match: LBF :18 to Grace Gray (Ankeny Cent.).
