Bulldogs end Vikings’ season in first round, 53-12

 OAKLAND (Oct. 16) – The AHSTW Vikings ran into a Bulldog buzzsaw here Friday night, falling in the first round of the Class A playoffs to a talented Riverside team by a decisive 53-12 score.
 The Bulldogs utilized a balanced rushing and passing game, and some big plays, to strike early and often as they built a 46-6 halftime lead. The running clock came into play with about two minutes left in the half.
 Riverside quarterback Austin Kremkoski threw for 207 yards and five touchdowns while Rhett Bentley rushed 15 times for 195 yards and two touchdowns.  Drake Woods was a virtual highlight reel, rushing for one touchdown, catching three touchdown passes and picking off Viking quarterback Blake Holst three times in the game.
 For the Vikings, Denver Pauley led the rushing attack with 11 carries for 89 yards and both of AHSTW’s scores. Holst finished the game 4-of-13 passing for 33 yards.
 The Vikings, who were playing their first game in 28 days, closed out the season with a 2-3 record, missing games that were cancelled for cautionary purposes due to COVID-19 related health concerns.
